initial consultation

FOR WEIGHT LOSS

If you come in person (we also offer telehealth appointments), your initial visit will include a body composition analysis on the InBody 570 (see photo), through which you will receive an assessment of your hydration level, body fat, muscle mass, visceral fat level, and basal metabolic rate.

You will also have blood work ordered if needed.*

You will meet with Dr. Mathur or Dr. Mathur’s PA, who will review your medical and weight history and perform a physical exam. She will check for medical conditions and medications that could be making it harder for you to lose weight. She will explain the causes of weight gain and address your specific struggles with weight and eating. Together, you will determine the best nutrition plan for you, whether our meal replacement program (Ideal Protein) or our nutrition program (individualized based on your needs). She will also discuss whether or not you would benefit from weight loss medications, including metformin, phentermine, phendimetrazine (bontril), diethylpropion (tenuate), topiramate, qsymia, wellbutrin, naltrexone, contrave, ozempic / rybelsus / wegovy (semaglutide), mounjaro / zepbound (tirzepatide), plenity, victoza / saxenda (liraglutide).

Because of our thorough and individualized approach, you should expect your first visit to last about 1-1.5 hours.

*Blood work is at an additional cost.

follow up visits

Follow up visits are 20 minutes and include a review of your weight progress, nutritional status, and medication efficacy. You will receive a body composition analysis at every follow up appointment to ensure you are losing primarily body fat and not muscle mass. Follow up visits are monthly and are required for medication refills.

We cannot guarantee weight loss results to last lifelong, but we will work diligently to help you lose weight and teach you ways to maintain your weight for life. We highly recommend that you continue coming in for regular visits to ensure that you are maintaining your weight.

Remember, obesity is a lifelong disease. Therefore, you must have a lifelong treatment plan. We will help you to design this, but you must put it into action.
