We do not take health insurance. However, our services may be covered by your flexible spending or health savings account (FSA/HSA).* Additionally, we try to use insurance if possible for coverage of medications, but weight loss medications may not be covered by your insurance plan. Also, we can provide a medical “superbill” for you to request reimbursement for services through your insurance company*.
All new patient appointments require a 50% deposit (non-refundable if appointment cancelled within 7 days of appointment time) in order to book.
Lifelong Weight Loss vs. online health platforms
Us at Lifelong Weight Loss:
You have an appointment with the doctor or Physician Assistant (PA) every month - either in person or via telemedicine. First appointment is 60 minutes, for us to thoroughly understand your health and struggles.
Can prescribe controlled substances (phentermine, qsymia, phendimetrazine, bontril, diethylpropion, tenuate) if appointment is in person and prescription is appropriate. Also prescribes GLP-1 medications (injectable) and non-controlled oral medicines.
You receive body composition analysis (see example) at every visit to ensure you are not losing excessive muscle mass while losing weight.
You review medications AND eating plan/diet at every visit with the doctor or PA.
You have a real office with real people that you know and that know you.
Calls and messages are always returned in 1 business day.
Orders and reviews blood work.
Flexibility to do virtual (telehealth) appointments anytime you need as long as you are in Texas.
Them:
You don’t have an appointment with a doctor or physician assistant every month. First appointment is 30 minutes or less, meaning your provider may not thoroughly understand your struggles.
No controlled substances (phentermine, qsymia, phendimetrazine, diethylpropion) can be prescribed through telemedicine by law.
No body composition analysis.
Little to no dietary counseling from the doctor.
No real office with real people that you know or that know you.
Can take a week or longer for a response if you have questions.
Cannot order blood work.
Cannot see you in person.
Labs and genetic testing are at an additional cost.
We accept cash and all major credit cards; no checks.
*Always check coverage with your FSA/HSA/insurance prior to your appointment. You are responsible for payment of all charges at the time of your appointment. If you have Medicaid or Medicare, you cannot legally request reimbursement from your insurance plan.
